Leaders Education Foundation Provides an Opportunity For Students to Experience Ballet Arts

Jackson, TN (November 7, 2023): Leaders Education Foundation is the School Performance Sponsor for Ballet Arts of Jackson’s 2023-24 season, allowing hundreds of more children from school districts across West Tennessee to experience a live ballet performance.

Ballet Arts is a non-profit 501 (c)3 agency that exists to provide youth with an opportunity to develop character, life skills, and independence through classical ballet. The generosity of the community is what propels Ballet Arts forward through attending performances and giving financially. The funds donated to Ballet Arts give students the opportunity to experience the joy of dance and be exposed to this form of art at any age.

“With the sponsorship of Leaders Education Foundation, we are able to reach more kids in our community, giving them the opportunity to learn about the art of ballet,” Caroline Meinert, Artistic Director of Ballet Arts said. “Most of our school performances are filled with kids who have never heard of what we do or have been exposed to the artform.  Ballet can truly be a wonderful outlet for kids to express themselves when at times they do not have the words.  The importance of dance in our community is vitally important, and Leaders Education Foundation is helping us share that message with this support."

There are two shows in the coming season, The Nutcracker from December 8-10, and Beauty and the Beast from April 26-28. Ballet Arts has the longest running Nutcracker in the state of Tennessee. In addition to Leaders Education Foundation, Ballet Arts benefits from grants through the Jackson Arts Council and the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Leaders Education Foundation understands the value that exposure to the arts at a young age can have and wants to eliminate barriers, such as finances and transportation, that would keep students from attending a ballet performance. Sponsoring the performances of Ballet Arts this season will help encourage and support the efforts of the growing art community of West Tennessee.

"The arts are an important aspect to a student's education, and we know not everyone has the opportunity to experience a ballet performance,” Leigh Anne Bentley, president of Leaders Education Foundation said. “Ballet Arts gives back to our community through exposing the community of West Tennessee to quality ballet performances for all ages. We are happy to support their mission and vision for the arts in our community."
