JACKSON, Tenn. (August 13, 2024)– Leaders Education Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3, has selected the students who will receive workforce readiness scholarships presented by Dixie®, which will help provide them with the resources they need to excel in their technological programs of study. These scholarships are in partnership and partially funded by Dixie®.
Students in West Tennessee aiming for industry certifications or workforce readiness courses could receive scholarships of up to $1,000 through the workforce readiness program. These funds are applicable for expenses such as testing fees, books, supplies, and tuition. There were 78 applicants for this round of scholarships.
"We are excited to continue to support the future pioneers of our workforce through these scholarships," said Leigh Anne Bentley, President of Leaders Education Foundation. "We hope the funds from these scholarships will ease the burden of stress for students, so their primary focus will be on excelling in their programs rather than being concerned over finances."
Here are the programs where the scholarship winners are enrolled:
Workforce readiness scholarships open three times per year. The next application period will open in mid-December. Students must be members of the Leaders Education Foundation to apply. Membership is a one-time $10 membership fee, and all funds over the initial fee are tax-deductible. The Foundation aims to empower students and educators by providing collegiate scholarships, teacher grants, and program support for education initiatives across West Tennessee. Some of its partnerships include the Imagination Library, WestTeach, and the READ Team.
