Leaders Credit Union Donates $7,000 to the Jackson Arts Council

JACKSON, TENN. (Nov 1, 2022) – Leaders Education Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization based in Jackson, Tenn, matched the first seven thousand dollars in donations given to the Jackson Arts Council Arts Box initiative.

The Jackson Arts Council upholds its mission to strengthen our community through arts and culture. They are currently doing this by, The Jackson Art Box. The Jackson Art Box project provides students in the Jackson Madison County School System (JMCSS) with boxes of free art supplies to use as tools for creativity and expression. Jackson Art Boxes are provided to JMCSS school counselors, who have received professional development training and art activities to encourage student creativity and expression in safe spaces. Students will then be able to take home their art box to continue making art.

“We are a foundation that advocates for giving forward,” said Leigh Anne Bentley, President of the Leaders Education Foundation. “We know we are empowering our community for good by donating to the Jackson Art box and furthering the Art Council’s mission.

After fundraising for this campaign, the Jackson Arts Council raised over seven thousand dollars, which Leaders Education Foundation matched. There was a check presentation with Leaders Education Foundation’s board members, officers, and volunteer staff, as well as the Jackson Arts Council Executive Director, Lizzie Emmons and Arts Council board members. The presentation occurred at the Leaders Credit Union branch on Oil Well Road, where the new foundation charter wall was recently installed, recognizing its initial supporters.

“We are grateful for our community partners who value providing arts access to students,” said Lizzie Emmons, Executive Director of the Jackson Arts Council. “With their support, we will provide 500 art supply boxes to our public schools this year.”

Leaders Education Foundation is excited to partner with the Jackson Arts Council to help make a difference in the school systems by providing students with the tools they need to be creative and express themselves.
